Check-in and check-out

What time can I check in?

You can arrive and check in to your room anytime after 4 p.m (upon availability).

Will you hold my luggage if I arrive too early?

Yes. You can leave your luggage with us while you wait for your room to be ready. For more information ask our porters.

What time do I need to check out of my room?

You need to check out by 11 am. Depending on availability, you may be able to request a late check-out. Please inquire at the front desk.

How can I keep up with all your promotions and contests?

The best way is to follow us on social media (Facebook & Twitter). That way you’ll receive the latest promotions. You can also visit the Promotions section of our website to stay on top of the latest discounts and contests, or you can subscribe to our newsletter on the home page.

We have 47 guestrooms of various categories.

Do your rooms have air conditioning?

Yes, each guestroom has air conditioning.

Are animals welcome?

We accept cats and dogs in some of our guestrooms. For more information, contact our staff.

Is breakfast served in your hotel?

A continental buffet is available in the breakfast room on the lobby level of the hotel. Ask one of our staff for more info.

How far are you from Jean-Lesage International Airport?

We are 25 minutes by car from Jean-Lesage International Airport and three hours from Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.

How do I get from Jean-Lesage International Airport to your hotel?

Since there is no shuttle service between the airport and Downtown Quebec City, we recommend that you take a taxi available at the airport exit. The fare is set around $40.

How long does it take to get to Gare du Palais Station train station?

We are 10 minutes from the station by car.

How do I get from the train station to your hotel?

We recommend taking a taxi. The fare ranges from $5–10. Map

How far are you from the Québec City Convention Centre?

The Québec City Convention Centre is just a 10-minute walk from here.

How far are you from the major attractions in Old Québec?

We are close to most of the major attractions in Old Québec including Rue Saint-Jean, the Dufferin Terrace, the Plains of Abraham, the National Assembly of Québec, and Grande Allée.

What do you suggest visiting in Québec City? What tours do you recommend?

When you arrive, our concierge service will be happy to assist you and offer ideas and advice for your visit. No need to book guided tours ahead of time—we will be glad to do it for you. We recommend Old Québec Tours, which you can explore on their website.

How can I get around the city?

Québec City has a public transit system with buses that cover the entire area. You can buy day passes at the front desk of the hotel. A taxi service is also available to take you wherever you like. And since we are close enough to the most popular attractions in Old Québec, you can get to them on foot.

Where can I park my car if I’m staying with you?

We have a secured parking lot with video surveillance and valet service. The daily rate (unlimited in/out) is $25 plus applicable taxes.

Where can buses park?

From mid-April to mid-October, bus parking spaces are provided in a lot on Rue Laurier, right next to the hotel. The rest of the year, buses park in Parc Victoria, a 10-minute drive from the hotel.

What is the temperature like in Québec City?

In winter (mid-December to mid-March), the temperature ranges from -10°C to -22°C (14°F to -8°F). We recommend bringing warm winter gear such as boots, coats, hats, scarves, and mittens. In spring (mid-March to May), temperatures range from 0°C to 15°C (32°F to 59°F). Pack clothes that will keep you warm during the day and at night. Spring is windy and rainy in Québec City. In summer (May to late August), the weather is sunny and pleasant. Temps range from 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F). Feel free to wear something light but don’t forget to bring a sweater for the evenings. In fall (late August to mid-December) the mercury drops to 5°C to -10°C (41°F to 14°F). A warm coat is a must. This information is for guidance only. It is based on seasonal averages. Remember there are always exceptions to the rule!

Booking and payment

How should I book to get the best individual rate?

We have a Best Internet Rate policy. You won’t find a better rate than booking directly on our website! You can also ask about our current promotions by calling our reservation line at 1-800-463-4453.

Can I make reservations for restaurants or shows directly with you?

We would be delighted to book activities or outings for you. Simply ask our concierge service during your stay or after you book. They will be able to advise and guide you based on your interests and preferences.

Is booking through your website secure?

Yes. You can make your reservations with complete peace of mind.

What taxes do visitors have to pay in your city?

Three taxes are added to the room rate, in the following order: 3.5% Québec City tax, 5% federal tax, and 9.975% provincial tax.

When will the payment post to my credit card?

Whether you booked by phone or online, your payment is generally taken when you check out. However, a preauthorization will be made when you check in for the duration of your stay.

How can I change my booking?

To make changes to a phone booking, please call our reservations line at 1-800-463-4453. For bookings made on our website or another website, you must go to that website to change your reservation. For bookings made through your travel agent, please contact him or her directly.

What is your cancellation policy?

To avoid a cancellation fee, you must notify us by 4 p.m. the day before you are due to arrive. If you do not notify us by the cutoff, you will be billed for the first night.  For "discount guaranteed package", it is not refundable but can be changesd. This policy may differ for group reservations. Please see your contract or contact your representative for more information. Reservations made through a travel agent must be cancelled through the travel agency at all times. The agent will apply the hotel’s current policy.

Do you offer special rates at local restaurants?

Yes, we have special arrangements with many of the city’s top restaurants for our guests. For more information, check out our Packages. You can also take advantage of our Treasure Chest during your stay.

Do you offer multiple menu options for our event?

Yes. A variety of options are available to you through our banquet and catering service, George V. Our Chef is also happy to customize your menu! Inquire with a sales associate at 1-866-822-9222.

Meeting and event rooms

Can we bring our own food into the meeting room?

No. No outside food is allowed in our meeting rooms due to the Québec ministry of agriculture and food’s strict regulations. Only outside wedding cakes can be accepted. Please note that we can also create your wedding cake here—our pastry chef is superb!

What is your maximum occupancy for events?

We have 1 meeting room that can hold up to 12 people.

What is the capacity of your largest ballroom?

Our Des Plaines Ballroom can hold up to 480 guests in theatre seating.

Do your rooms have windows?

Yes. About 95% of our rooms have windows, offering a view of Grande Allée, the Plains of Abraham, or the hotel’s all-season outdoor garden. That’s one of the reasons why event planners love our rooms for every type of event.

Do you offer “green” meetings?

Yes. We have an eco-friendly meeting program. Inquire with a sales associate at 1-866-822-9222.

Do you offer Internet access?

Yes. We offer free Internet access in all our rooms.

Do you have a business center for your guests?

Yes. We have two workstations for our guests as well as a photocopier, fax, high-speed Internet, and more.

Do you offer laundry service?

Yes. Laundry service is available Monday to Friday, except holidays. Drop off your items before 9 a.m. for pickup the same day at 6 p.m.

Are there places where I can smoke?

Smoking is strictly prohibited at all times in our establishment.
